2021: First day of school

Everyone is growing up. They no longer need us to wake them up or help them get dressed. There are no lunches to pack because everyone eats the school hot lunch. Charlotte fills her water bottle, the boys carry their instruments, and so far (day two) everyone has remembered to brush their teeth. Masks are mandated in our district for at least 30 days, so I'm sewing a few more to replace the worn-out ones. In a change to the bus schedule, the elementary kids and middle school kids are now riding together instead of two separate runs. Zach says they were late the first day, so we're all hoping they work out the kinks quickly. Everyone says their first day was good, and Gabe has told me lots about his classes, his locker, and when he sees his friends. He seems happy with middle school so far. And unrelated to school but still very exciting, Charlotte lost her first top tooth yesterday. It had been loose for a while, and I was finally able to pull it.
