2020 week 2: Baking and Exploring

Everyone got to pick out suitcases for travel this year. They are very excited to have their own luggage.
We finally got around to making our first gluten-free bread recipe. It was pretty good, especially toasted, but Charlotte wasn't a fan. The loaf got really big and then collapsed a little while it was cooling.
I found Charlotte's writings in her bed one morning. Girl loves her rainbows and unicorns.
We also made gluten-free tortillas, which were pretty good if you ate them while warm. We enjoyed using our new tortilla press.

Saturday it was in the mid-70's here. We picnicked at a state park with friends.

2020 week 1: New Year's things

The first week of the year was completely uneventful and totally perfect. Well, not the part about the kids getting grumpy about taking photos, but they eventually came around. We all managed to stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve (OK, Charlotte technically fell asleep and then was woken up again), we watched some/all of three movies, then watched the ball drop. Zach was so excited and needed to make sure everyone was awake for it. The next day everyone was up at their usual times. We took the tree down and set up our family photo shoot, followed by any other "portraits" the kids wanted me to take. Thursday was back to school, and Friday was a birthday party for Charlotte's friend from Girl Scouts. Saturday night Frank and I had our belated New Year's date night at home.
