During the entirety of last week, Frank, Zach, and Gabe were at Boy Scout Camp, and Charlotte and I were living our best lives at home. Charlotte's activities were all related to specific food requests, swimming her heart out, playing Minecraft as much as possible, and one evening spent with friends (and special pancakes). I spent the week taking her to the pool, making the food requests possible, watching Virgin River Season 3, and using some of the quiet to organize photos and do other stuff around the house.
And here's a whole lot of photos from the camp, Summit Bechtel Reserve. The boys' group was about a third first year scouts (Gabe and friends) and the rest were Zach's age and a little older. They had a base camp for sleeping, a chow hall for eating, and they worked on merit badges all over camp during the week. The older ones scattered in small groups during the days, and Frank and another dad were in charge of getting the first years to Brownsea Island where they had their own program. The mornings were cool and foggy, the days were terribly hot, and they'd walked 10-12 miles by the time they got off their feet in the evenings. Aside from working on rank and badge requirements, they hiked, threw knives, practiced archery, rode a zip line, and gathered for opening and closing campfires. There are fewer photos of Zach's activities, but he went whitewater rafting one of the days and earned quite a few merit badges. Gabe's favorite activity may have been working on the chess merit badge, in addition to playing Among Us on his phone with the boys in his group.
