I can't believe it's June already...where did last month go? So much happened, and I didn't get a chance to post updates as often as I'd have liked. So here's my photo (or two or three) from each day. (oops, I forget that so many photos affects viewing...give this a minute or two to load)
May 1. Our new couch was delivered, and it's amazing how one piece of furniture can make a place feel like a home. I've also been surprised how well the cats are doing with the boys (and vice versa). The boys are very gentle; Gabe is adorable when he pets them (especially Marmalade) and leans his head in to give them kisses. The cats follow the boys all around the house, and Marmalade especially likes to go in their room with them and hang out while they play.

May 2. Zach took an unexpected nap in his tent. He hasn't been taking regular naps for awhile, but every now and then he falls asleep on the couch while watching TV, or up in his room after going up to play. But he almost always falls asleep if we drive during the middle of the day or late evening.

May 3. Grandma Jill, Emily, and I took the boys to Queeny Park on what turned out to be a very, very sunny day. Zach had a great time climbing, sliding, and collecting rocks, and he picked dandelions for Grandma and told her "Happy Mother's Day!"

May 4. Just an ordinary day at home. This was the day that Frank got his job offer via e-mail. We could barely believe it.

May 5. This was the first day it wasn't rainy when we went over to Barb and Ron's, and I was able to take some flower pics in the backyard.

May 6. Gabe had his 18-month check up at Scott Air Force Base. It's a pain to drive so far, but the doctor was really nice, and Gabe cooperated perfectly. He's making a weird face in the photo, but he was being so cute and good during the whole thing.

May 7. Frank took the boys to his Mom's for the whole day so I could do my own thing, mainly surfing, scrapbooking, and straightening up.

May 8. Mother's Day...we spent it with both our mothers and had a great day.

May 9. Our household goods shipment from Belgium was delivered. The inventory list compiled by the movers was legible and detailed, which helped, so we knew which things went into the house and what went directly into the UHaul. That 17-foot UHaul was completely full, and you can see how much space it takes in our 10x20 storage unit.

May 10. Bailey was born the day before, so I went to the hospital to visit and take pictures.

May 11. You can see how well it worked to block the TV with boxes...

May 12. Gabe took his first nap outside the confines of his portible crib.

May 13. The dining room is now usable for dining, though it is still our dumping ground for things we have no other space for. We are filling the boys' closet with luggage and boxes of stuff we don't need access to, which is freeing up a lot of living space for us.

May 14. Zach has always liked curling up with Frank, but now he's got a snuggling cat and a whole family of monkeys to deal with.

May 15. One good thing about Frank not working is that he's available to make breakfast :) He's getting really good at turkey and cheese omelettes. Also from this day: my 9.5-year-old car just hit 62,000 miles. Kind of hard to believe, huh? Especially since it was our only car in Belgium for over a year and a half (shows you how little we got out, by car anyway)...anyway, I love my little Focus. Now that I've posted this it'll probably die on me! But I hope not; we are praying it'll last another couple of years until Frank's car is paid off.

May 16. Our shipment of stuff from Las Vegas storage was delivered. Straight to a storage unit adjacent to our other one...we wanted to have enough room to be able to go through and find/sort stuff. We've already given our extra queen bed to my mom and taken some big old furniture to Goodwill (thanks, Ron!). We've been back once to search for some things from both units, but we've yet to really start going through things.

May 17. I went to Katie's to photograph Bailey. Luckily she's got a big window in the living room...this was my set-up.

May 18. No photo this day; here's another from May 17th. Frank and his new grill...we're really enjoying it. We don't have much space on our little porch, but we wouldn't be using it for anything else anyway.

May 19. Little Gabriel Justin (Bieber) finally got his shaggy hair cut; so did Zach and Daddy.

May 20. Grandma Barb babysat while Frank and I went to dinner at Macaroni Grill and got our favorite dessert, the Lemon Passion.

May 21. No photo this day; here's one from the night before. After dinner we went by Friar Tuck's Beverage by us to check it out. Whoa, they have a lot. We were able to find a Riesling I had at The Melting Pot, check out the Missouri wines, and saw that they have five different varieties of my favorite cider, Woodchuck.

May 22. Zach really cracks us up sometimes. This day he said "I can see the whole world from up here!"

May 23. He's been really into Play-Doh lately. It's still off-limits to Gabe because he tries to eat it.

May 24. We got Zach's bike out of storage and took it to Grandma's house so he could ride it. He does a little better job pedaling now since we adjusted the seat.

May 25. We hung out at Barb and Ron's house, and we ended up spending some time in the basement due to tornado warnings.

May 26. I tasted wines at Mount Pleasant with Mom, Emily, Lisa, Bill and Ellen. It was a really fun day even though the weather was completely blah.

May 27. One of the annoying, yet sometimes funny, things about unpacking is that you have seasonal things laying around that you're not sure where to put. Zach found these and insisted on a little fashion show.

May 28. Zach desperately wanted to be a part of some complicated game his uncles were playing.

May 29. The Sunday before Memorial Day is our annual family reunion, which we hadn't been able to attend for the last two years. Most years it is extremely sunny, hot, and unbearable humid, and this year was no exception. Even though the boys got tired, I think they couldn't believe they were allowed to play outside all day!

May 30. After a tiring day at the reunion, we insisted on a day at home to do nothing.

May 31. Still doing nothing, which is great for getting stuff done around the house. Anyone else think catching up on laundry is exciting?

Wow, if you read this far you are a very dedicated blog reader! I'm really going to try for weekly updates in June...
