Project 365: Week 30

I'm so happy to have had only about 50 photos to choose from this week. We are still finding our rhythm, and I'm realizing that with Gabe being very mobile now our daily routine is quite a bit different than it was before our vacation.

Monday, July 19
I took the boys to the clinic for Gabe's 9 month appointment, so they didn't get a regular nap. Not that they were back on track yet from the traveling, but this sight would have been cuter and more of a relief if it didn't mean another night of crabby wake-ups from both of them. (Oh, his 9-month stats: 23 lbs. and 30 inches.)

Tuesday, July 20
More unplanned dozing off. Gabe still wakes up 1-2 times a night, but it took about four days for Zach to go to bed without crying and sleep the whole night.

Wednesday, July 21
This was Belgium's national holiday, and Frank was home to help kid-wrangle. Zach was loving this set-up with blue monkey tucked into the front of his monkey (leash) backpack. He cracks us up.

Thursday, July 22
These days Gabriel absolutely, positively lives for bathtime! The way he acts like it's his own personal swimming pool cracks us up, too.

Friday, July 23
Separation anxiety is starting to set in. I can no longer be too far away or Gabe gets panicky. So he's been under foot a lot lately, and then Zach's gotta come see what all the excitement is about. So now I've got two little orbiting beings...lovely.

Saturday, July 24
Zach takes big-brotherhood very seriously sometimes.

Project 365: Weeks 28 & 29

1995. No, not the year...that's the number of photos and videos we took while on our three-week vacation.
Here are some more from the last couple of weeks:

Monday, July 5
Cookout and hang-out at Barb and Ron's house.

Tuesday, July 6
At the park with Emily. The boys get really serious-looking in the muggy heat.

Wednesday, July 7
We took the boys to the zoo with my mom and siblings. Again, there was much humidity and much seriousness+crabbiness from Zach. This may be one of the few times he smiled that day. I don't blame him though...it was awfully hot.

Thursday, July 8
One last photo before Em and Chewy drove back to KC.

Friday, July 9

Saturday, July 10
We took Zach to see the cats at Willie's house. We had Marmalade shaved because he wasn't cleaning his fur enough and it was hard to keep him brushed. He looks a little funny because he's so skinny, but he seems happy and more comfortable. Chloe is a little more plump than she was a couple years ago and is just as chatty.

Sunday, July 11
I didn't realize until now that this was the only photo I took that day. Zach loves berries lately.

Monday, July 12
We took the boys to a place called "Monkey Joe's." Gabe took a nap, but Zach had a good time for an hour and a half. He's more of a runner than a climber and jumper, so he basically just ran in and out of all the bouncy houses and got warned "No running!' a couple of times. We also went to a playground that afternoon, but it ended up being too sunny and we didn't stay long. Frank got a good pic of my mom and Gabe, though.

Tuesday, July 13
Haircuts (Gabe's first-just a little off the sides) and more hanging out. Frank checked out the family's new computer and helped set some things up.

Wednesday, July 14
Goodbye, Aunt Katie!

Thursday, July 15
We did a bunch of things and saw just about everyone on our last day in St. Louis.
Good lunch with good friends:

Friday, July 16
Travel day (and night).

Saturday, July 17
Finally a bit of rest for Zach. After countless screaming meltdowns in Chicago and a couple on the plane, he finally settled in for a few hours of sleep. It would have been better if I hadn't been so worried about moving, waking him, and setting off another round of tantrums. I was pretty uncomfortable. Gabe slept almost the whole time.

Sunday, July 18

Project 365: Weeks 25-27!

We've been having too much summer fun to spend much time on the computer...but you can see we are still spending lots of time taking photos. Hope everyone had a good July 4th weekend.
