Weeks 18-21: Oh. May. Goodness.

Warning: photo dump ahead! May was even busier than usual, with Lisa's visit, the big house painting project, Frank going to RJ's graduation, school/scouts winding down, and Zach's field trip to New York. There are so many photos to tell these stories :)

We celebrated May the Fourth with pizza and a movie.

The kids wanted their turn to do a little painting.
Watched the Kentucky Derby with hats and lots of snacks. Snacks for meals was a bit of a theme while we were in the middle of painting.

Homemade doughnuts.

We planted flowers: daisies, petunias, marigolds, geraniums, and dahlias.

Frank flew to St. Louis for RJ's graduation. He met Jaden.

Mother's Day.

Sweet Frog frozen yogurt.
Zach's last step-up ceremony as a cub scout, from Webelos 1 to Webelos 2. After another year he'll join Boy Scouts.
Leaving for NYC!

First stop was Liberty Science Center in NJ.

Dinner in Times Square.

Garment District (this is all we saw of it...next time!)

Great views through the windows on the 80th floor of the Empire State Building.

We were so excited to get to the Observation Deck on the 86th floor (we climbed six flights of steps), but we should not have been! WAY too crowded and took forever to get to the edge.

The Today Show. We snagged pins and red noses and made signs to hold up, but that was about it.

St. Patrick's Cathedral.

We took a walk through Central Park.
Lunch in China Town.

We bought chop sticks in a Chinese market.
We spent a couple hours in the museum and watched a planetarium show about the cosmos.

We spent a few chunks of time on the bus in traffic. See photo below of Zach napping.

We passed Wall Street on our way to the harbor.

The musical was a great ending to our trip. He was so excited about the fact that I let him buy drum sticks.
Goodbye, New York!
