Week 22: Memorial Day fun

So much happened last week with the holiday weekend and the end of school. We are trying to encourage a nice summer "go with the flow" attitude with the kids...with limits, of course. Zach would be happy to watch YouTube all day.

On Sunday we took some time to check out a new veterans memorial in town, go to lunch at McDonald's, and play at the playground. It started to rain on us but we decided to stay and have a little adventure. Zach loved going down the water slide and Gabe was happy to hide out in a dry spot with me (Mommy camping out with you under a slide is kind of exciting, I guess).  Charlotte just ran around crazy.

Frank took Zach to The Angry Birds movie on Monday.

Wednesday was the last day of school. Zach fell early in the day and chipped his tooth. He's had no problems so far even though it looks sharp; we go to the dentist this week. That evening we went to the park for a kids day/safety expo kind of thing. It's getting hot and humid here.

For the first day of summer break we went to the mall. I had to get stuff at Target, then we got pretzels and walked down to Jo-Ann (looking for just the right shade of brown yarn for a crochet Chewbacca, which is still eluding us). They weren't perfectly behaved but they weren't too bad.

We are getting back into the routine of tablets (and leap pad for Charlotte) after lunch for quiet time in rooms.

I convinced Gabe to start going to yoga along with Zach. He told me after class he was glad he went because it was more fun than he thought.

We will probably transfer these tomato plants outside next weekend.

Charlotte went to bed super crabby Friday night and slept until after 10 on Saturday even after a diaper change and a few wake-ups. She had a fever and just laid around the whole day...we all just rested and hung out. Frank played computer, I crocheted, the boys played Wii and watched YouTube, and Charlotte watched Paw Patrol and Team UmiZoomi.
