Weeks 8 & 9: Life in pictures

Another week flew by before I even realized it. It isn't until I sit down to look at photos that I remember what I captured. Here are a few little stories.
We let the kids enjoy the jets in our tub. First time for Charlotte and she loved it.

Grocery shopping with Gabe home sick from school.

Zach basketball.

Having tea parties with friends, including Buzz and Woody.

We are prepping for an upcoming cub scout camping trip.

After the decline of naptime, Charlotte started throwing fits at bedtime too. She was ready to move on from the crib, I guess. We took the crib out last weekend and she's pretty excited.

A random Saturday project, not yet completed but entertaining nonetheless. I think we cleaned up in order to try out the tent and unearthed a Lowe's Build and Grow kit of some sort.

Playing inside.

Playing outside.

Charlotte looking at the underwear I bought her. She's let us know that she's not quite ready to wear them yet.

Car naps...usually last about half an hour after we get the boys from the bus stop. Their rowdiness in the car doesn't even wake her.

The new tablet time, before bed. They like to play with the lights off.

Week 7: Fun and games

I can't believe it, but things were pretty calm around here. We had just the right balance of activities vs. downtime, family hanging-out time vs. Mommy-getting-stuff-done time. I helped with Gabe's class Valentine's Day party. Zach went on a tour of the fire station with cub scouts. Charlotte started saying some words a little more (yes, no, jump, up, help, oopsie) and kept toting Woody and Buzz around the house (and beyond). The boys bought 2x2 rubik's cubes and Zach learned how to solve them, and he was also excited to spend his allowance on an etch-a-sketch. The last exciting thing we did was have a babysitting swap with a neighbor. I crossed errands off my list, and Charlotte got two playdates out of it. We'll probably do it weekly; we are happy to have friends in the neighborhood!

Week 6: Another one down

We survived another week of winter. And here's the proof:

We had two snow days and two 3-hour delays last week.

The kids entertained themselves pretty well, but it's still hard to not have very much downtime.

Charlotte is loving everything Toy Story. It helps that we have many of the characters from the movie for her to play with.

These are her favorites.

We took the kids to Burger King Friday evening for dinner and some running around time.

And Saturday was the Pinewood Derby. Zach took second in his den. As always, he had a blast.

Week 5: Hanging out with friends

This will have to be another quick photo dump. There's no time to reflect on last week; it's just go, go, go. We had a chance to hang out with friends a couple of times. Friday one of Gabe's classmates came over for a playdate, and Saturday we went to a WVU women's basketball game with our neighbors. Charlotte liked dancing to the music and taking pictures, Zach enjoyed hanging out with his friends, and Gabe watched some of the game but mostly worked on drawings. Then we had dinner at Chili's, of course.
Playing well, even though she's not napping.

Making the dollhouse mommy and daddy kiss.

Birthday lunch.

Waiting for Gabe's friend to come over.

Week 4: The end of the snowstorm

It must have been a long week because shoveling snow seems like it was ages ago. The kids were home Monday and Tuesday. About the most exciting thing that happened was getting back into my Starbucks rountine—currently Saturday mornings before Zumba class. I finally had a chance to go through some photos from Nov/Dec and Christmas.

The start of a huge snowman that didn't get completed.
