Week 4: Enough winter already

School has been cancelled again for tomorrow. It's just too cold. We are hoping for warmer temps by the end of this week, but Zach hasn't had school since the 17th, and all the days are just bleeding together...
Her hands are grabbing everything now.

She loves books.

Tooth number 2 came out, but the replacements have been coming in for a little while now.

Ah, skyping. It's often chaos; everyone tries to talk at the same time and be seen in front of the laptop.

More long naps in the crib and fewer naps in the swing (it's too loud with both boys at home).

A big fan of rice cereal already.

Week 3: Nice and boring

We didn't have a lot going on this week, and I am completely embracing the "boring" days. Gabe's been playing Kirby's Epic Yarn, Charlotte's been pretty happy to eat and sit around with toys, and Zach spent all week looking forward to seeing a movie. Frank took them to see The Nut Job, and it was their first 3D movie, which Zach's been dying to experience. Now he's trying to talk us into buying a 3D TV...

And we may have another lefty:

Gabe painted this a few weeks ago but I've just now photographed it. Can you tell it's R2-D2 (bottom blue) with a bunch of bullets whizzing past him?

Zach is into writing big time these days. He makes notes about everything, spelling many of the words without any help.  He even helps me label things...I'm so proud :)

Week 2: Back to school, finally

I'm still playing catch-up from last week and our excruciatingly long four snow days. Stuff from the last two weeks-ish:
Charlotte ended her fourth month weighing 15 adorable and chunky pounds,
She and Gabe had back-to-back doctor check-ups and received three immunizations each,
Frank and I had the best fondue to celebrate New Year's Eve (the key is lots of beer!),
The boys played in the snow,
I just had to take more photos of Charlotte in festive attire before we took the tree down,
The boys have done relatively well with the small cleaning tasks I've given them each evening and have earned their allowance two weeks in a row, which is definitely an accomplishment for us all,
We've finished the three novels by Lucy & Stephen Hawking about George and his adventures learning about the universe,
I rearranged the boys room so they could have their beds close together with their new Darth Vader alarm clock, though we don't need the alarm yet...they are up way before us as it is,
Charlotte thinks the boys are hilarious and when she smiles at them they like to say "that gives me a ticket to crazy..." or something like that,
I was so desperate over the snow days that I got out a huge amount of craft supplies and just let them go at it,
Zach's got homework every night, and he reads many words and short books easily,
I've been making a more regular effort to run on the treadmill...four and a half months til our beach vacation and counting!
