Project 365: April 1-9

April 1, 2011 Celebrating Ron's birthday (the 2nd)

April 2, 2011 An hour at the local playground

April 4, 2011 Kisses for and from my little guy

April 5, 2011 Snuggling with Daddy (and Blue Monkey, of course)

April 6, 2011 This little chip is what keeps my butt on the treadmill. (You know you really don't want to exercise when even the peace and quiet of the hotel gym isn't appealing.) Lately I've been running to Kelly Clarkson and music from Glee.

April 7, 2011 Checked out the local base

April 8, 2011 Brothers at breakfast, and later, the fun of Monkey Joe's bouncy house.

April 9, 2011 Mama Katie and Baby Bailey

Here are some pics from the baby shower a few weeks ago:

Whatever happened to Project 365?

I have never stopped taking pictures. I kinda stalled out on the processing and printing part, though. This is what I created for 2010:

Here's the 12x12 album.

I printed the photos and stuck them in these divided pages, with one 2-page spread for each week. Most weeks have blank pockets where I plan on printing and including some of my blogged notes from the week.

This is a look at how thick the album is...and I still have 3-4 months worth of photos to print up and add to it. I'm hoping to find it in one of our boxes and complete it sometime this year.

I'm doing things a little differently for 2011. I decided to simplify and downsize a bit...each month will have a two-page spread instead of one for each week. Each of these pages has a matching one with notes about each photo.

March has more missed photo days than any other month so far, so I filled in notes about what we were probably doing instead!

Cars? Check.

I have more stories and photos to share than I can really handle at this point, but the most important things going on right now are:

Our cars are back in our possession as of this past week. Frank's shipped through Volvo and arrived at a local dealership shined up and filled with gas. Finally something that has gone completely according to (and slightly better than) plan. The government shipped mine, and we picked it up a couple days ago...good to have that all done.

We're in the process of renting a 2-bedroom townhouse, and we expect to move in about the 3rd week in April. We aren't thrilled about the thought of staying at the hotel for another few weeks, but the townhouse is very nice. It will be good to be at least partially settled. Frank is still working hard on the job-hunting front.

We had a crazy amount of snowfall over the last 24 hours and I have lots of pictures...coming soon!

Through Zach's lens

I've been meaning to post these pics for awhile now. Over the couple of months before we moved, Zach liked to take lots of pictures with his very own cameras (he has two). Here are some of them, and some I took of him in action:

You can tell that the flash is a little too powerful to be used up close! But even with the blurriness and funny crops, we think they are very artistic in their own way :)

Glimpse of life at the hotel

Or as Frank put it the other day, "the Home-tel."
Here he is playing Angry Birds while giving the boys a bath.

Holidays 2010

I haven't been scrapbooking a lot lately, but I've been trying to get this page done before it's next Christmas already. It's a little fuzzy--click to be able to actually read it. (or view on my flickr photostream)

So excited

to be home

Not that we're planning on being in St. Louis for all that long, we're just glad to be back in the US.

Our time in Europe was filled with adventures, and we truly enjoyed, well, most of them. It's a relief sometimes to have a beginning, middle, and end. We came, we saw, we lived, and that was enough.

It's time for the next chapter.

(Frank, or one of his parents, must have taken this photo of the arch when he was a kid. I recently found it and scanned it--I just love the composition.)
