Cutie Patootie photo shoot

Just the 28 best of what I took today:

Oh...how did that last one get in there? Katie was a cutie patootie, too, wasn't she?

All our worldly possessions (and a bunch of junk)? Check.

As of today, everything we own is in St. Louis (our apartment, a couple of storage units, and a few things at my mom's).

As of today, we no longer have to deal with shipping companies, truck drivers, packing lists, or any more paperwork. Until we hire someone to move us to our next destination...no word on that yet, by the way.

As of today, one of my main jobs will be to figure out how to make a lot of clothes, cheap furniture, kitchen items, knick knacks, and craft supplies just go away. I'm always up for a challenge. Really, though, I think many things we've lived without for almost 3 years have "goodwill" written all over them.

As of today, we are officially, completely moved. I better get back to unpacking...

Happy Mother's Day to me

My mother's day gift from my family:

a day without them :)

I've had a great day, really. I've done (in no particular order):
*a load of laundry
*cleaned out my e-mail inbox
*did some online shopping
*had 3 cups of coffee (not that whole mug x3, though)
*took a leisurely shower
*walked up to check the mail
*straightened up the townhouse and put things away (not really part of the original plan, but our stuff from Belgium is *shock* being delivered on Monday and it had to be done)
*read blogs and posted to my own (yay!)
*took, uploaded, edited and admired photos
*watched a tv show
*did no cooking (leftover Happy Joe's pizza for breakfast, a frozen meal for lunch, and Frank is bringing me Chinese takeout for dinner!)
*did some scrapbooking and posted my layout for today on flickr--check out the pages I've done so far this month
*only called to check in with Frank once, but we texted a few times
It's amazing how much you can get done alone in the peace and quiet.

He's on his way back, and the plan is to tuck the boys straight into bed. Tomorrow will be the day we celebrate our mothers, then Monday is moving-our-stuff-in day, then maybe life will settle down for a little while. We'll let you know...

Oh too cute

Sometimes I forget about the cuteness I capture with the camera until I upload the photos a few days later...what a sweet surprise :)

Bummer

You know how they say "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"? Well, the title of today's post could easily have been an expletive, but I've chosen simply to say "Bummer." We are gathering intel on the covert location of our household goods and believe that they are still on a boat at or nearing the east coast. We think the arrival date we were given was just completely inaccurate. I think it's possible that our shipment was processed in a slightly different way because it was scheduled to go into storage, but we had no way of knowing that. So we are back to our original plan of purchasing a few things to get us through...we have a love seat and a mattress for Zach being delivered on Sunday, and Frank is TV shopping. We should have our stuff from Vegas storage in a couple weeks, including a bed for us, lamps, a vacuum, and some other things that will come in handy.

You may or may not be able to tell from these messy photos that our new place is really nice. I will continue to take photos as we clean up the place and move stuff in!
