2020 weeks 28 & 29: While they were at camp

What we were up to the week before camp and while they were away:
all.the.things on Animal Crossing
sewing masks
going for the occasional walk when it cooled down to below 90 degrees
looking at the flowers
packing up the camping gear, and seeing Zach and Frank off
catching up on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" (me, lol, not pictured)
buying and planting a few more flowers
acquiring a very long slip 'n' slide, and trying it out
finishing the last Harry Potter book and watching the movie

Boy Scout Camp

Zach came home from a week of camp having completed six merit badges, Frank came home with over 500 pictures, and they both came home needing showers and rest. Though the original plan to attend an out-of-state camp was cancelled, the troop put on their own camp that sounded like it was very busy but also very successful. Zach's patrol is comprised of quite a few boys that have been together since the beginning, and they continue to learn new skills and have a great time together.

caught, cleaned, cooked, and ate a bluegill for his fishing merit badge

He said "It tastes like fish sticks."

Zach is the current Patrol Leader, and is also the lightest for their cardboard boat race entry.

For the wilderness survival merit badge, he had to stay the night in a shelter he constructed.

2020 week 27: July 4th

We celebrated with friends who were self-quarantining after traveling. We kept to opposite sides of our driveway, and enjoyed the sparklers, our traditional small fireworks show, and the big show our neighbors were putting on!
